Dualidad en la Ofrenda (Duality in the Altar), 2024

Wood, fabric, LED candles, candles, faux marigolds, photo paper, photo frames, plastic papel picado (pecked paper), ceramic skulls, sugar skulls, mementos, etc.

A Day of the Dead altar that represents through writing and photography the experience of having two homes and how these come together as one —as well as videographic work with the insight of other Latine immigrants. The altar also reflects on the topic of how to honour and respect something you love while still acknowledging its flaws.
